Second day back and I've realized that this is not all cut out as it used to be.
On my way to the Care of Magical Creatures class, I saw something in the yard. It had a lion's head, a goat's body, and a dragon's tail. The tall man who led us to the castle during our first year at school. His name was Hagrid, Rubeus Hagrid. Now I recognized the creature with shock- it was a chimaera!
"For God's sake, are they trying to kill us?!?!" I asked Liberty. " Devyn might have talked him into it," she suggested. "She's not that crazy," I said.
She opened her mouth to say something, but I couldn't hear her. A scream cut the air as the chimaera slashed my arm and leg. My wand was drawn, but the beast knocked it out of my hands. Liberty tried to grab it, but the chimaera growled at her and she froze. Hagrid couldn't hold it back, and I knew I was dead.
But suddenly, Lysander came out of nowhere and pulled a knife out of his backpack. He yelled as he slashed the chimaera down the side. It fell to the ground, dying. I got up and kissed Lysander. He saved my life. I owed him.
I was in the hospital wing for four days. Hufflepuffs,Ravenclaws, Gryfinndors, and even Slytherins visited me. It was great to know that people cared for me. BUt still, McGonagall gave me tons of homework. But at least tomorrow is a Qudditch game.
Oh well.
